A633 Carbon Steel Plate

A633 Carbon Steel Plate

ASTM A633 steel includes four grades: A, C, D, and E, of which the thickness of grade C can reach 4 inches and the thickness of grade E can reach 6 inches. ASTM A633 steel specification is based on the standard specification for standardized high-strength low-alloy structural steel plate, which requires high notch toughness under low temperature conditions.

A633 Carbon Steel Plate Description

A633 carbon steel plate is a normalized high-strength low-alloy structural steel plate used for welded, riveted or bolted structures. This material is suitable for use at lower ambient temperatures where the required notch toughness is better than that expected for rolled materials of comparable strength. The material should have good austenite grain size and should be normalized by heat treatment. Its chemical composition should be determined by thermal analysis. Tensile testing should also be performed. A633 steel plates are usually used in manufacturing plants, general construction and various types of engineering machinery, such as drilling rigs, electric shovels, electric wheel dump trucks, mining trucks, excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and various cranes for mining and various engineering constructions.

Scope of Application

ASTM A633 steel plate is mainly used in petroleum, chemical, power station, boiler and other industries, for the production of reactors, heat exchangers, separators, spherical tanks, oil and gas pipelines, liquefied gas tanks, shell nuclear reactor pressure, boiler drums, liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, high pressure water pipes, water turbines and other equipment and components.
